Landscape and architectural lighting across the Sierra Nevada. Fifteen years of resorts, private estates, main streets, and the occasional deck or patio.
InquireLighting built around who you are and how you use your property. Find yours.
We add light tastefully, to accent what's already there — bringing out the best features of your yard after the sun goes down. The goal is never more light. It's the right light, in the right places.
Up here, your yard can have visitors — mostly raccoons or bears. Tree lighting, path lights, a few well-placed downlights: enough to see what's moving, without turning the place into a parking lot.
The best lighting is invisible by day. We've hand-painted fixtures to match the exact rock, bark, and ground cover they sit against — so in daylight you see nothing, and at night you see only the light, never the source.
Talk through your property →We install lighting that promotes a sense of cheer and celebration throughout the year. Our best results come from warm white light that doesn't reflect one specific tradition — it invites the celebration of all of them.
Lighting that enhances a community without drawing complaints. We've hand-painted fixtures to disappear against the rock and ground cover — invisible by day, elegant by night. No glare into windows, no "why is my neighbor's yard lit like a stadium." Warm white keeps the tone subtle, not abrasive.
Boards change, priorities shift. We keep it simple: one team, one plan, one call — for the common areas, the entrances, and the shared spaces that set the tone for the whole community.
Bring us to your board →If people can't see it, they can't find it. Even a business that closes at dark benefits — tasteful accent lighting makes people remember the name, and remember how good the place looked at night.
Businesses open after dark that add lighting see patrons stay longer and spend more. And the kind of light sets the tone: candlelight-style for an intimate room, café and bistro strings for something open and easy, a wall of mini-lights synced to music for a room that says stay and dance.
Light the dark corners — parking, the sides and back of the building — in a way that feels welcoming, not like an interrogation. (Unless that's the look you're going for. We don't judge.)
Light up your business →Turn on the charm for the holidays and give people a reason to be downtown after dark. A lit Main Street isn't decoration — it's foot traffic. Every tree we wrap and every storefront we outline keeps someone on the sidewalk a little longer, in front of the businesses that make the town what it is.
The best-lit downtowns become the reason people leave the house on a cold night. The annual tree lighting, the walk to dinner, the block that just feels alive — that's what light does for a town.
We've lit downtown Truckee and Mammoth Lakes season after season. Municipalities trust us with the same job every year because it gets done right, on time, the same way each time.
Plan your downtown →Lighting systems for a variety of landscapes — trees, structures, paths, and water. Our mission is to highlight and enhance the landscape. We take pride in every job regardless of scope or size. We look at the landscape today and install for the future — from a few aspens to towering ponderosa pines, and everything in between. Designed once, skillfully installed, and maintained as the landscape matures.
Seasonal installations for private estates and resort properties — designed once, maintained each year. Most residential clients leave theirs up year-round: the craftsmanship holds, and the LEDs are built to last multiple seasons.
Fully managed lighting for weddings and corporate gatherings — design through takedown once the occasion ends.
There are a hundred crews in Truckee with a chainsaw and a truck. There are very few ISA Certified Arborists who also build installations at this scale.
Every tree is assessed by an ISA Certified Arborist before a single strand goes up. Nobody else in Tahoe brings that to a lighting job.
Placed by hand, on rope, by trained climbers — never subcontracted to day labor. The difference shows the day it's lit, and every season after.
Commercial-grade LEDs draw a fraction of the power of old incandescent strands. And every old light we pull down gets recycled, not landfilled.
Most clients leave theirs up year-round. The craftsmanship holds and the LEDs are built to last — not boxed up and re-hung every winter.
A mature pine takes three to five days and three to five thousand feet of light. Every strand goes on by hand — someone up on rope, working out from the trunk, securing each line to withstand the elements and accentuate the shape of every tree.
Before any of that, someone qualified assesses the tree. Not everything should be wrapped. Some are stressed. Some are dead. Some need pruning first. Some carry defects you won't see from the ground.
Knowing which is which isn't a lighting skill — although it's just as important to the health and longevity of the project. It's why we're certified in both.

Have a tree in mind? Let's talk →A single specimen tree by the front door. A strand of café lights over a deck. An entire resort campus. Different scope, different budget — the same design process, the same crew, the same standard.
Most of what we do isn't a record-setting tree. It's a normal-sized yard that looks extraordinary after dark.
Over twenty-five years living in Lake Tahoe, fifteen of them lighting it. Nearly all our work has come from one client telling another. From Everline Resort to the Ritz-Carlton. From the Town of Truckee to Mammoth Lakes. From gated lakefront estates to homes in Martis Camp and Lahontan. None of them found us through an ad.
We're licensed and insured, so you can rest knowing any work done on your property is covered. Reach out and see if lighting is right for you, your family, your HOA, your business, or your city. We're here to help.

Based in Truckee, California. We go where the properties are.
We're happy to travel — it just has to pencil out. Projects more than an hour from Truckee carry a contract minimum that scales with the drive. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll give you a straight answer on whether it makes sense.
Ask about your area →If it's a fit, we'll walk it at dusk. That's the only time you can actually see what we're talking about.
